This is a very specific type of bodywork in which individual muscles and groups of muscles are thoroughly treated from their origin to insertion. This soft-tissue approach deals with chronic pain and assists in bringing balance to the musculoskeletal system and the nervous system. These physiological factors will be addressed as they may create or intensify pain patterns: nerve compression, trigger points, postural issues, ischemia, nutrition and emotional wellbeing. Some of the conditions that benefit from NMT are: carpal tunnel syndrome, recurring headaches/migranes, TMJD, plantar fasciitis, IT band syndrome, piriformis syndrome, etc.
For those struggling with TMJ (Temporomandibular Joint) Dysfunction, jaw pain, lock jaw, teeth grinding, and headaches from tight facial/jaw muscles. Your therapist will work the jaw and mouth muscles to ease your pain and release the tension that has built up inside them. The therapist will be working the inside (using gloves) and outside of your mouth and face. Patients find incredible relief from pain when these muscles are worked.

The use of hot stones during a massage can provide an incredible relaxation session. Hot stones are placed over specific areas of the body, while other stones are used to massage the body. The heat from the stones will warm the body, relax the muscles and improve circulation. (Note: Certain medical conditions are not indicated for hot stone massage, including, but not limited to: pregnancy, skin conditions, any condition where nerve sensation is limited, and heart issues).
